Most people call us without knowing what they own, and it makes no difference to the visit. We repair and service Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Bryant, Amana, Rheem, Ruud, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, and York, and the list does not stop there, because if the manufacturer still makes the part, we can usually get hold of it.
When it comes to fitting a new system, we install Coleman, Goodman, and American Standard, and if yours is a brand we do not fit, we will still look after it for you.

Coleman
One of the two lines we fit most. Coleman shares a parts platform with York and Luxaire, so the local counter usually has what your repair needs, and it often lands on the efficiency tier Duke Energy’s rebate asks for.

The other line we fit most. Goodman was built around off-the-shelf components rather than proprietary ones, so a part is usually cheap and sitting on a shelf nearby, and the bill at the end of a Goodman repair reflects that.

We fit this one when a homeowner asks for it. Trane Technologies builds American Standard and Trane on shared platforms, so parts cross between the two badges and a technician who knows one already knows their way round the other.

Carrier and Bryant are part of the same company, so a Bryant part number will often resolve a Carrier fault. That widens what we can get hold of when your model is discontinued, which happens to most of them eventually.

Trane’s outdoor coil is built differently from everyone else’s, so a coil repair on one needs the brand’s own part rather than a generic one. Those come through Trane’s own supply house, so we tell you the wait before we start.

What Your Model And Serial Number Tell You
Never taken a close look at your own system? Almost nobody has. Two numbers on it, the model number and the serial number, tell us far more than the brand name ever will, and finding them takes about a minute.
Read us those two numbers over the phone, and we can usually tell you what your system needs and roughly what that will cost before anyone drives out to you. It is the quickest way to get a straight answer from us.
Where To Find It
Look for a metal or foil sticker labeled “data plate.” One is on the side of the unit outside your house, and another is on the unit inside. Photograph both on your phone and you never have to look again.
What The Model Number Says
The middle digits give the size in tons. One ton is the cooling you get from melting a ton of ice over a day, and most Raleigh homes need between two and four tons to stay comfortable in July.
What The Serial Number Says
Most brands carry the build date in the first four digits, either as a week and a year or a year and a month. So 0416 can mean the fourth week of 2016. Age usually decides whether repair beats replacement.
What To Ask For Before You Sign
Homeowners keep telling us the same story. The system they're replacing died at eight years when they were promised twenty. Three questions will tell you whether a quote is worth signing, and you can ask them of anyone you're considering, us included.
Ask To See The Sizing Math
A load calculation measures, room by room, how much heating and cooling your house needs. Skip it, and you get a system that is too big, which cools in short bursts, leaves the air damp, and wears its parts early.
Ask For The Model Numbers Of Both Halves
Your system is two pieces, one outside and one inside, and the efficiency rating only holds if that exact pair was tested together. An AHRI certificate is the public record of that test, so ask for its number on the quote.
Ask For The Readings From The Day It Goes In
Ask for the startup readings written on your invoice: refrigerant weighed in rather than guessed, airflow measured, temperature drop across the coil recorded. The trade calls it commissioning, and it is the first thing dropped when a crew is rushing.
On our installs, those three arrive as standard rather than on request. The person who quotes your job is the one accountable for those numbers, and any contractor you’re considering should give you the same three.
What Can You Get Back In Wake County?
Less than the ads promise, and more than nothing. What comes back to you depends on how efficient the system is, which means the equipment you choose changes the number. Here's what's open to a Wake County homeowner right now.
Your Duke Energy Rebate
Most of Wake County, Raleigh included, sits in Duke Energy Progress territory, and Duke pays a rebate called Smart $aver on heat pump and air conditioning replacements. Only the higher efficiency models qualify, and Coleman is often the one that clears the bar. We file the paperwork when yours does.
The North Carolina State Program
North Carolina runs Energy Saver North Carolina, listing up to $8,000 toward a heat pump. It’s income-based: earn below eighty percent of your county’s median and the project can be covered, and the share drops as income rises. The work must go through a contractor registered with the program itself.
The Federal Tax Credit
The credit behind every “up to $3,200” banner on HVAC websites ended on 31 December 2025. Work completed on or before that date can still be claimed on your 2025 return, but anything installed from January 2026 does not qualify, so leave it out of your budget for this year.
If your heat runs on gas, Enbridge Gas North Carolina offers rebates for qualifying equipment through its ThermWise program.
Manufacturer rebates work differently because they come directly from the brand, and you have to buy that brand through one of its dealers to get one. Duke and the state pay for efficiency instead, so we quote to the level that qualifies. Those amounts change through the year, so you get the current figure in writing at your estimate rather than a number off a page that has gone stale.

Usually yes. Carrier and Bryant share platforms, and common failure parts like capacitors and contactors are not brand-locked at all. We check availability before quoting the repair.
Can You Install A Lennox?
No. Lennox sells new equipment through its own dealer network, and we are not in it. We will service the one you have, and we can quote a Coleman or Goodman replacement instead.
Will You Warranty A System You Did Not Install?
We warrant our own labor and the parts we supply. The manufacturer's warranty on the equipment itself stays with whoever registered it, and we will help you find out what is left on it.
Do I Have To Replace It With The Same Brand?
No. Your ductwork, electrical, and line set are not brand-specific, so a swap across brands is normal. The pairing of the outdoor unit and the indoor coil is what has to match, not the badge.
